Markus POSCHNER signed for general management
He was described as »the most promising up-and-coming talent« by the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and the Tagesspiegel marvelled: »...have not heard Beethoven performed so breathtakingly in a long time«. We are delighted to announce the signing of Markus POSCHNER, winner of the German Conductors’ Prize 2004 for general management.
Markus Poschner came to the Komische Oper Berlin as Kapellmeister following his first engagement as Chief Conductor of the Georgisches Kammerorchester Ingolstadt. He was subsequently appointed Generalmusikdirektor of the Bremen Philharmonic and Bremen Theatre in 2007. His unusual programming, fascinating interpretations and outstanding work with the orchestra have resulted in a remarkable audience boom in the Hanseatic city.
As a guest conductor Markus Poschner appears with the most renowned orchestras such as the Gürzenichorchester Cologne, Bamberger Symphoniker, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, RSO Stuttgart, Tokyo NHK Symphony Orchestra, as well as at the Zurich Opera, Komische Oper Berlin, Hamburg State Opera and Cologne Opera.
Markus Poschner is first guest conductor of the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin and the Dresden Philharmonic, where he can currently be heard in all Beethoven symphonies.
