Giedrė Šlekytė – debut in Japan

Young Lithuanian conductor Giedrė Šlekytė will be making her debut with Mozart's "Magic Flute" on September 8th. The production will be presented be the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation, co-produced by Landestheater Linz, the orchestra playing is Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. Starting this season Šlekytė will be Principal Guest Conductor of Brucknerorchester Linz as well as acting as Assistent to the GMD at the Bayerische Staatsoper. Lately she lead a highly appraised „Dialogues des Carmélites“ at Frankfurt Opera in Antwerp, this fall will see her conducting Leoš Janáček‘s „Kát’a Kabanová“ in Berlin.
