Mirga Grazinytė-Tyla conducts at New York's Carnegie Hall

Lithuanian conductor Mirga Grazinytė-Tyla will celebrate the culmination and conclusion of her two-week US tour with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on October 22nd 2022 with a concert in New York's renowned Carnegie Hall. One of the eight concerts has taken her to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, one of the conductor's former places of work.

The programme in New York features Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto (soloist: Sheku Kanneh-Mason) and Claude Dubussy's La Mer, late works from the creative periods of both composers.

In contrast, Thomas Adès' The Exterminating Angel Symphony, an arrangement of his successful stage work that was premiered at the Salzburg Festival in 2016, will be performed.
