Markus POSCHNER returns to Zurich for new production

Markus Poschner returns to Zurich opera for the new production of Engelbert Humperdincks widely successful fairy tale opera "Hänsel & Gretel". Poschner, who is Chief conductor of Bruckner Orchester and Landestheater Linz as well as of the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, is a regular guest in Zurich, most recently with a revival of Richard Wagner’s "The Flying Dutchman". Humperdinck's fairy tale opera is strongly influenced by Wagner’s music. The production is staged by Robert Carsen with Olga Kulchynska and Anna Stéphany as Hänsel and Gretel at the premiere.
