Signing of conductor Aziz SHOKHAKIMOV

We are delighted to announce the signing of outstanding conductor Aziz SHOKHAKIMOV for management in Austria, Switzerland, Germany (in collaboration with Jonathan Wentworth Associates), France and Benelux.

The remarkable young conductor Aziz SHOKHAKIMOV burst on the scene at the age of just 21 by astounding audiences in Bamberg, where he was awarded second prize at the Gustav Mahler International Conducting Competition under the auspices of the Bamberger Symphoniker.

Born in 1988 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Aziz SHOKHAKIMOV entered Uspensky Music School for Gifted Children at the age of 6. At the age of 13 he made his debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, conducting Beethoven’s Symphony no. 5 and the Lizst’ Piano Concerto no. 1. During the following year Aziz was invited to conduct his first opera, Carmen, at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Uzbekistan. His relationship with both organizations resulted in numerous invitations to perform symphonies by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler, Prokofiev and Shostakovich – as well as operas by Verdi and Bizet among others. Starting in 2006 Aziz SHOKHAKIMOV assumed the position of Principal Conductor at the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, a position which he continues to hold.

Since 2010 Aziz SHOKHAKIMOV successfully completed his debuts at the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, the Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna and the Sinfonia Varsovia in Poland.

In 2012/13 Aziz SHOKHAKIMOV will make his debut with the Oregon Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, I Musici de Montréal in Canada and the US, the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, the Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi. He will also be returning to Bologna and Moscow for further concert engagements.
