Axel Kober stands in at Wagner Festival Bayreuth
Axel Kober has been a guest at the Bayreuth Festival for seven years now, conducting two different productions of “Tannhäuser” and “The Flying Dutchman” on the Green Hill. Now a third title has been added at short notice: On August 19, 2025, he will take over the baton for Daniele Gatti, who is ill, in “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg”. The leading roles will be performed by Christina Nielsson, Christa Mayer, Michael Volle (replacing Georg Zeppenfeld, who is ill), Jongmin Park, Michael Nagy, Jordan Shanahan, Michael Spyres, and Ya-Chung Huang.
