Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, the CBSO's longstanding former Music Director, returns to the orchestra as Associate Artist with a special programme. On 6 December at the Birmingham Symphony Hall, pieces by Weinberg, Čiurlionis, Loboda and Kakhidze will be presented as From Mirga with Love – her personal tour of the Eastern European music with focus on freedom. Mirga will this time be joined by orchestra’s own soloists, followed by her own sister’s – pianist Onutė Gražinytė’s debut with the CBSO, where she will perform the piece by Kakhidze.
