Marie Jacquot appointed as new Chief Conductor of the WDR Sinfonieorchester

Marie Jacquot will become Chief Conductor of the WDR Sinfonieorchester in Cologne, starting at the beginning of season 2026/27. "Marie Jacquot knew how to captivate the orchestra from the very first moment: naturally, sympathetically, on an equal footing and absolutely convincing," says the orchestra committee in the current press release. The conductor is equally enthousiastic, being „thrilled by the stylistic versatility of the ensemble and, above all, by its absolute will to achieve the best quality possible."
