Out Now: Gaïa – Gautier Capuçon’s new album on Warner Classics / Erato

Today marks the release of Gaïa, Gautier Capuçon’s inspired new album on Warner Classics / Erato — a powerful musical tribute to the Earth and humanity’s relationship with nature.

Bringing together seventeen world-premiere recordings by sixteen contemporary composers, Gaïa offers a kaleidoscope of new musical voices, including Max Richter, Ludovico Einaudi, Joe Hisaishi, Missy Mazzoli, Nico Muhly, Abel Selaocoe, and many others. Each piece gives the cello its own voice — sometimes fragile, sometimes majestic — as the Earth itself speaks through music.

Gaïa reflects Capuçon’s deep connection to the natural world, inspired by his alpine roots and the diverse musical landscapes of our time. The album also features several guest artists and composer-performers, among them Ayanna Witter-Johnson, Olivia Belli, Michael Canitrot, and the Capucelli cello ensemble.

Gaïa is available now on all major streaming platforms and as a physical release from Warner Classics / Erato.
