Dennis Russell Davies and Philip Glass in Dresden and Hamburg

For the German Premiere of Philip Glass' 12th Symphony, a very special guest is expected at Dresden's Kulturpalast: the composer himself, who is connected to the conductor of the concert, Dennis Russell Davies, by a long relationship.

The Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra plays this piece (featuring soloists Angélique Kidjo, Voice and Iveta Apkalna, organ) not only at its Kulturpalast, it will also fill Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie with its sound on 6 November 2019. The program is completed by Kurt Weill’s 2nd Symphony and Bernstein’s Dance Episodes from On the Town.
