Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla named Principal Guest Conductor of Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France

We are delighted to share that Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla has been named Principal Guest Conductor of Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France from September 2026!

Since her debut with the Philharmonique de Radio France on April 9, 2021, at the Radio France Auditorium with a program featuring Mieczysław Weinberg's Symphony No. 3, Mirga has forged a special relationship with the orchestra by pursuing especially ambitious projects.

The orchestra and Mirga enthusiastically share common values of creativity, innovation and artistic excellence. This is proven by their desire to highlight lesser-known composers such as Mieczysław Weinberg (in 2021 and 2025), William Walton (Troilus & Cressida in 2023), Raminta Šerkšnytė (Fires in 2023), Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (Miške in 2024, the release of the vinyl recording on Deutsche Grammophon in 2025, and Jūra in 2025), and Romualdas Gražinis (Sutartinė in 2024) with Chœur de Radio France.

Mirga's earlier engagements with the orchestra have led to close working relationships with artists such as Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Julia Hagen, Antoine Tamestit, Daniil Trifonov and Gidon Kremer.

The orchestra and Mirga have also shared the stage on tour in Europe, being hosted by both Berlin Philharmonic as well as Wiener Musikverein, among others.

Starting next week, audiences at the Radio France Auditorium and listeners to France Musique will be able to hear her in three concerts at a Festival dedicated to Dmitri Shostakovich and Mieczysław Weinberg (from 14 to 21 November).
